Step 2: Apply Cleaning Solution

Now it’s time to apply some cleaning solution to the grout surface. This is for advanced cleaning.

You can make your own in a spray bottle by mixing a 50-50 solution of vinegar and water. Now, spray on the grout, let it stand for five minutes.

Once the five minutes are over, scrub it with a brush. Use a toothbrush or some other scrub brush for the grout.

For some more scrubbing power, you can use an electric toothbrush. Don’t use a metal brush. It will scratch the tile and can knock out pieces of the grout.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water when you’re done here. You can also use commercially prepared cleaning solutions or diluted bleach.

Step 5: Apply Grout Sealer

Once you’ve finished cleaning, let the grout dry for 24 hours. After that, put on a silicone-based grout sealer to protect from stains and dirt in the future.
