Step 1: Keep the shower running on a high temperature

The first step of the cleaning process is to keep the shower running at a high temperature for 10 minutes.

Doing this will make sure that the tile pores are open, making them easier to clean. Otherwise, you won’t get the floor properly clean no matter how hard you try. Patience is the key, remember?

Step 2: Spray a vinegar solution

Now you have to make a vinegar solution. You’ll find the ingredients right at your kitchen cabinet. Take ¼ cup of vinegar and water and mix those together.

Then, pour it into a spray bottle. Although you can try to apply it with a sponge brush. But that just makes the process a lot harder. Who wants that, right?

However, you make a baking soda too if you want. For making that, take ½ tbsp of vinegar and water and mix those together.

The only downside is you can’t spray it. You’ll apply it to the floor with a bristle brush or a sponge brush.

Moving on to the vinegar solution, this is when you start spraying the solution. Make sure you spray the solution all over your floor, leaving no tile untouched.

Step 3: Start scrubbing the floor

Before you start scrubbing the floor it’s essential that you wait for at least 20-30 minutes depending on how dirty the floor is. If you cleaned your shower floor no more than a week ago, then waiting 5 minutes is more than enough.

Now that the waiting period is over you can start scrubbing the floor. After scrubbing it for 15 to 20 minutes, you’ll see that your shower floor is as good as new again.

Step 4: Turn on the shower again

The cleaning part is over. Now you have to wash away all the dirt and scum buildup. To do so, turn on your shower again and it’ll do most of the job.

See how we said most? It’s because you have to give it a final touch so that the dirt goes into the drain. However, you can also use a bucket for this purpose. That’ll put those dirt right in the drain.

Step 5: Use a towel to dry the tiles

Now it’s time to clean the grout of your tiles. As we’ve said before the process is a bit different. Let’s start-

Step 1: Make a bleach solution

First, you have to make a bleach solution by mixing 200g of bleach and 100 mL of water. This way you’ll end up with a paste that can be applied to the grout.

Step 2: Apply the bleach solution

Now you’ll have to use a sponge brush to apply the bleach solution to the grout lines. Make sure you apply the paste to every line of grout there is.

In case you use all of the paste, you’ll have to make it again. The process is fairly simple so it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes, right?

Step 3: Start scrubbing the grout

Step 4: Rinse with water

Rinse the tiles with water for a while. Then, use a clean cloth to dry them. That’s it, you’re done.

How to Prevent Buildup in the Shower?

Cleaning a shower might not be that hard but it sure eats up a lot of time. And a lot of us can’t afford to give that much time for this purpose. That’s why we’ve come with some preventive measures-

However, make sure you keep it in a place where children can’t reach it. Otherwise, you might face some other problems.

You should always keep a squeegee in your shower. That way you can the shower floor every time you enter the shower.

Keep a dry towel

By doing this, you won’t ever face mold and mildew problems. Do this 5 to 6 times every time and you’ll be surprised at how fresh your shower will become.
